About the OPG registration fee
Our package prices include a saving compared with buying each document separately.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) has to be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) before it can be used. The OPG charges its own registration fee for each LPA. This fee is separate from ours and is not included in the package prices above.
What you pay the OPG depends on your circumstances:
- Nothing, if you receive certain means-tested benefits and qualify for a full exemption.
- Half the fee (£46 per LPA), if your income before tax is under £12,000 a year. If you receive Universal Credit, you are assessed for a reduction rather than an exemption.
- £92 per LPA, if no exemption or reduction applies.

We will tell you upfront which applies to you and help you claim any reduction or exemption you are entitled to. If we handle the registration for you, which most clients choose, we collect the OPG fee and submit it on your behalf.
